Up and Coming

Simultaneously running the Dublin Marathon and having the best hair day of my entire life.

November events

|

Two new November 2008 events to add:

17 November, UCS Beyond Words Festival at 11.20am.  A most excellent festival run by University College School, see the website for more details.

29 November, as part of Manchester's Big Science Read, I'll be at Bury Central Library at 1pm, in a discussion with Katherine Beacon about Knife of Never Letting Go and aboud dystopias, I believe.  Should be very interesting.

Hay-on-Wye Festival

|

At very short notice, I'll be appearing at the world famous Hay-on-Wye Literary Festival at 4:00pm on Tuesday, 27 May 2008.  I'm Event 226, just click on the link and scroll down.  There are still a few tickets available, but, I gather, not many.

I'll be interviewed about the longlisting for the 2008 Guardian Children's Fiction Prize by Julia Eccleshare and, I think, Meg Rosoff, so pretty cool on all fronts.  Hope to see you there.

Brighton Festival Details

|

I'll be appearing at the Brighton Festival under their 26 Letters banner at an event entitled So You Want To Write For Children? at the Old Market on 9 May 2008 at 7.30pm.

It's chaired by Nicholas Tucker, and I'll be there with the author Katy Moran and our editor at Walker, Denise Johnstone-Burt.  Tickets are £7.50 and can be bought through the link.  Should be fun.  I'll do my best.

An event, finally

|

I'll be appearing at the Brighton Festival on May 9th, in an event called, I think, "So You Want To Write a Children's Novel" or something like that.  With Katy Moran.  More details as they become available.
