The Sydney leg of my trip has just finished, too, culminating in a really enjoyable big event at Sydney University last night. A big crowded room and met lots of great people. Terrific fun.

But watch tomorrow if you can. Or maybe not. I've never done live telly before (it's all be pre-recorded in the past), so I could be nervous...

I also spent this last weekend in very beautiful Tasmania, a place I never thought I'd ever get to. Great place, friendly people, and hey, Tasmania!

Lots of new commenters to welcome, a few too many to call individually by name or answer (sorry, on a very busy trip!), but I do read them all and thank you all very much for them.

Yesterday (it was done a bit early because of that very trip), I recorded an interview for The Sunday Feature programme on BBC Radio 3 to air on 21 March (don't worry, I'll remind you). This one is presented by Louise Doughty, who did the interviewing (and produced by Beaty Rubens, who was lovely, too), and will be entirely about YA fiction, with interviews with other writers and a teenage panel of readers. Should be great fun; I'll keep you posted.

And finally, a whole host of commenters to welcome: Becky, Haley, Sophie-Anne, Ghausia, Najee, Kris, "Kilian", tks (writing tips here), Zead, Sarah Lily (I do indeed read them all), and Michael (who had no misspellings anywhere).

Yesterday's interview on Waterstone's Twitter page @Waterstones was great good fun. Lots of great questions, and they've laid them all out nicely today on their Facebook page if you'd like to see how it went.

I've also updated some of the Australia/New Zealand schedule, including adding (at last) an event in Wellington, NZ. There should be more to come for New Zealand, too, so stay tuned!

And a quick hello to the new commenters: Jesse, Angie, Emma, Emily and Matt (Mr) Bakewell. Cheers!

And, equally importantly, my Australia Schedule for my visit in Feb/March is up on the Events page. These are all my public events (I'll also be visiting tons of schools), and booking and ticket info are included. So, if you're an Australian fan and want to see me, here's your chance!

I expect to be doing at least one public New Zealand event, too (and possibly something else extra-cool in NZ as well), so stay tuned.

In the meantime, hello to the first-time commenters: Luke, Stephenie, Chris and Eliza.

Tuesday (26 Jan) is the announcement of the Costa Book of the Year, which I'm up for as winner of the Costa Children's Book of the Year. Only one children's book has ever won, and it's tough competition, so fingers crossed. It'll be a fun night whatever happens, though.

And a quick hello to the new commenters: Damla, Maggie, LaylaViolet, Christie, Annie (and her daughter), Sean, Garrett and Zead (you've heard more than I have, Zead, so let's call that a tentative date for now and when I get final word, I'll put it up here).
