Monsters of Men is now out in the US! I'm sorry you've had to wait so long, but it's finally here. I can't wait to hear what you think. Not just that, but US audio versions of all three books are also published today (UK versions will be out just after the first of the year).
But wait, there's more! I can - at last - announce that Kindle versions of all three books will be released worldwide on 18 October. There's also going to be a very special treat for Kindle users starting early next week: a completely free download of "The New World", a prequel story to Chaos Walking about how Viola reached the planet in the first place. This will be available to Kindle users in the US and UK, and I'll put up a link when I've got one.
And I'm also coming to America. I've got public events in Minnesota on Thursday and Saturday (Suzanne Collins fans should check out that one), and in Seattle next Thursday and Portland, Oregon, on Saturday the 9th. It'd be great to meet some of you there.
And of course, Monsters of Men is out in Germany on Friday, too. Busy week for me! Greetings to all the new commenters. More news coming soon...
Just four days to go before the US release of Monsters of Men! Lots happening all at once, too. Scroll down for word on audio versions of all three books (released the same day), and any minute now I should some interesting Kindle news to share... Stay tuned.
And then of course, I'm coming to America next week, too! Next Thursday and Saturday, I've got public events in Minnesota, then more after that in Seattle and Portland (including the Wordstock Literary Festival on 9 October). Check here for details. Great to see of you if you can make it.
In other cool news, Monsters of Men also comes out in German on 1 October, under the title Das brennende Messer. I've had some GREAT support in Germany, and I can't wait to hear what you think of it.
Greetings to the new commenters Kim, Megan, and Bob. More soon.
That's right, the wait is nearly over! We're one week away from the official US publication of Monsters of Men. It comes out on 28 September, and I'll be in America one day later, with public events in Minnesota, Seattle and Portland. It'd be great to meet some of you.
Even better, 28 September is also the release of the unabridged audio versions of all three books in the US, which is really cool. All you audiobook fans out there, let me know what you think! A UK version will be out just after the first of the year.
And in even more news (since a number of you have been asking), YES, at LAST, there will be Kindle versions of all three books, launching mid-October in the US and the UK with some special stuff brewing, so stay tuned for that.
Greetings to the new commenters, including Shaun from Iowa (closest I'll get this trip is Milwaukee, very sorry; I'm hoping for more soon!), an actual other author, a reader called Rupert, and a great school site from Orlando. Good stuff all around.
For the final stop on my American tour (which includes public events in Minnesota and Seattle, too, so check it out), I'll be appearing at the Wordstock Book Festival in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, 9 October. I have two events, a panel at 12noon and a solo event at 5pm. Ticket info is here, and it looks like one ticket gets you into the whole Festival for the day, which is great. Hope to see you there.
Greetings to the new commenters from around the world (and feel free to share your thoughts with Emyr on mavens and cassors). And scroll on down for more America info, too.
This was, for a moment, on the US schedule (below), but now it's definitely conformed. I shall be signing books at the Red Balloon Bookshop on Grand Street in St Paul on Saturday, 2 October from 12-1pm. Details here. Even cooler, Suzanne Collins will there at 2pm the same day, so a big YA trilogy bonanza, if you want to come on down.
I've added it to my Events page along with the rest of my developing US schedule, so hopefully for to come. It'd be great to see you if you're in Minnesota, Washington or Oregon.
Greeting to the new commenters. More soon.
I'll be in America for a whirlwind tour starting at the end of this month. I'm afraid America is rather big, so I can't make it to all of it this trip, but here are a few of the public events that it'd be great to see you at if you're in the area.
MINNESOTA - The big thing I'm coming for is the brilliant Red Hot Rebel Read project at Champlin Park High School, just north of Minneapolis, where I'll be doing tons of events with the students there (2800 of them, all of whom are reading Knife!). Part of it includes a public event at the school on 30 September at 7:00pm, so it'd be great if you'd like to come along.
WISCONSIN - I'll be visiting a school and recording an appearance on Wisconsin Public Radio. More details soon.
SEATTLE - I'll be visiting some schools here (almost my hometown!), visiting Amazon and also doing a public signing at Third Place Books in Lake Forest on Thursday, 7 October from 4-5pm (who are also reading Knife as part of their Teen Book Club). Great to see some folks from home there, if you can make it.
PORTLAND, OR - And finally, I'll be appearing twice at Wordstock Literature Festival in Portland on Saturday, 9 October, once on a panel from noon-1pm with LK Madigan and Conrad Wesselhoeft, and then in a solo event from 5-6pm. Tickets don't seem quite available just yet, but I'll keep you posted.
I hope you can make some of these. I can't wait to meet some US readers and hear your reactions to Monsters of Men. Sorry again that I can't be everywhere. Maybe next time! Greetings, too, to all the new commenters.
The Monsters of Men paperback comes out on 4 October in the UK. Have you seen the cover? The copper colour is actually copper foil, so it looks really cool as a physical object.
Also four weeks and counting for the US release of Monsters! That comes out 28 September, and I cannot WAIT to hear what you all think about it.
And meanwhile, the Swedish version of The Knife of Never Letting Go (called Tystnaden i bruset) is book of the month on Adlibris, their largest online book service.
Cool stuff all around, and greetings to the international batch of new commenters!
